If you’re anything like me, you usually take the weekends to chill and consume some of the media backlog that can occur throughout the week. Normally I’ll throw on an album I haven’t heard yet or a concert video that gets sent our way, and more and more we get links for full concerts being posted online. It’s not like this is a new thing, but it really does seem to be commonplace these days. It’s rad to see it continue to proliferate for the benefit of all of us.
To celebrate that fact, we’re introducing this new column called Long View that will be dedicated to the idea of highlighting a video online that’s a full concert worth of material. Sometimes we’ll highlight some longer videos like a montage of stuff, kind of how I wrapped up the Outside Lands festival this past year, and other times we’ll post an entire set of music for you to digest. If you have any great examples that you think we should share with the rest of the internets, send it our way!
For the first post of the series, I’ve decided to reach back and find that Disco Biscuits video that the crew over at Roxwel.com put together. The band came through Austin late last year and played Stubb’s, bringing two full sets and some interviews to post online.
Roxwel got the chance to interview each member of The Disco Biscuits individually before their 9/19/09 Stubb’s show – Aron with his pants down in the port-a-pottie, Allen sticking by the rails, Marc chilling in the back of the bus and Barber bouncing around after the show.
Read on for the full concert embed, then relax, sit back, and crank your stereo.
