Watching the new video from the Arctic Monkeys made me strain to realize that I haven’t been paying attention to this band AT ALL. What a departure from what I thought my brain said they were supposed to sound like when I clicked Play, but I’ll tell you, it seems like an absolutely inspirational set of changes.
Maybe this is what they’ve sounded like for years and I’ve had my head in the sand, but this is the work of a band matured and writing some remarkably fresh music in today’s world of non mainstream rock.
