Summer Camp Music Festival has become a staple of the Midwest music festival scene and one that the jamband scene can’t seem to stop loving. moe., Umphrey’s McGee, and Keller Williams all put this at the top of their priorities early in their careers and it continues to pay off in spades each year with fans flocking to Chilicothe, IL (right outside of Peoria) over Memorial Day weekend and braving weather that inevitably seems to bring the festival crashing down around itself. We sent Chris Monaghan to shoot the festival this year and he filed this quick report when he got back:
“Man that was a wet one…… First two and half days I got a ton of great coverage, then the rain came…..and never stopped until the shows were all canceled Sunday night.”
Thankfully for us he managed to shoot a full series of “moving” portraits before the rain came as well as a full gallery with tons of our favorite artists slaying the fields in Central Illinois including Umphrey’s McGee, Pimps of Joytime, moe., Medeski Martin & Wood, Mike Dillon Band, Future Rock and more.
