White Denim
One thing I love about SXSW is the inevitable “discovery,” that one band that you’ll stumble across almost by accident and end up falling in love with. White Denim was one of those bands for me this year. I saw them twice down in Austin, and last Friday they came into town as the opener for Tapes ‘n Tapes. In short, the show was quite good and I’m psyched to have gotten to get second row for both bands and the near sold-out crowd at the Metro in Chicago. What a riot.
Here are the photos I ended up getting. I’m planning on investing in a digital SLR soon. It’s time to step it up a notch.

The music that the three guys in White Denim put out is something of a mix of garage rock, noise, and classic psychedelica. It was solid to me.

The star in T’nT is the drummer. He regularly pushes his glasses up on his forehead while mid drum part, and he has a nice, driving style that really leads the band in pushing forward through a good set of music.
