Canada’s Purity Ring stopped in Boston last Wednesday night for their second to last show of their Shrines tour. Due to a spike in ticket sales, the venue switched from the smaller more personal Paradise Rock Club to the larger more grandiose House of Blues. Young Magic opened for Purity RIng received a very positive crowd response. When it was time for Purity Ring to take the stage, lights started flickering different colors and the hanging lanterns started to glow. The set was full of sights and sounds that entranced the crowd, including light up drums and prop construction lights. This is a winning recipe for interesting concert photography. Fans new and old alike enjoyed the set and were even treated to a cover of “Grammy” by Soulja Boy.
After attending the concert one thing was clear, Boston loves Purity Ring. Read on for my photos and a few videos I shot at the show.
