Yesterday was my first official day ever attending the storied New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and I couldn’t have come away happier from the first full set of music I took in — Galactic. The set was heavy on the type of jams I’d always expect from the band, and even though I couldn’t officially name one tune in their catalog, I always feel like they deliver the best of most of the bands I’ve seen play music festivals over the years. It helps that they’re on their home turn, but the band (as always) delivered a solid mix of what the audience was looking for in the afternoon sun.
