Music fans embraced the Texas heat Saturday as the sold-out crowd gathered in Eleanor Tinsley Park in downtown Houston for the first day of the fifth annual Free Press Summer Festival. On the opening day, the large crowd swarmed the park in particular during sets by Iggy and the Stooges, The Postal Service, Alabama Shakes and Calvin Harris. Sunday’s rain was a big factor, leading to lower attendance numbers overall. However, the fans brave enough to challenge the muddy conditions were welcomed by unseasonal coolness and notable sets by acts like Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, TV On The Radio, Baroness, Bassnectar and more.
