The prolific psychedelic indie rocker Ty Segall played an acoustic set at Buffalo Iron Works back in early November. Taking a break from his usual thrashing live show that can leave your ears ringing for days, it was nice to see the songs in a stripped down form. It was a testament to just how good his songwriting is, which can sometimes hide in plain sight under the usual wall of sound he usually brings to the stage.
Hopefully he keeps his promise to the crowd that night that he would bring the full band back to Buffalo soon. You can check out his new album of covers here called Fudge Sandwich (including a killer version of The Grateful Dead classic “St. Stephen”).
