ZZ Top is putting a new kind of show on stage with the announcement of their new musical, “Sharp Dressed Man.” The musical will exclusively feature music from ZZ Top and all three members of the band are on board as executive producers.
“We’re excited about this fantastic project and look forward to hearing our music in a new innovative context,” says ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons. “Fans have often told us that we’ve provided the soundtrack to their lives, and this is very much in line with that kind of enthusiastic thinking.”
The project is being headed by Michael Gruber and Jason Gastwirth of Caesars Entertainment.
The show promises a plot that will appeal to fans of ZZ Top’s music.
“Sharp Dressed Man is an outrageous, bawdy musical romp about a Lone Star auto mechanic who becomes a modern-day Robin Hood, stealing hearts – and car parts – with the help of his merry band of beer drinkers and hell raisers,” explains a press release for the show.
The show is expected to premiere sometime in 2020.
