YouTube has announced the release of a new original documentary staring enigmatic producer Mark Ronson, due out available for streaming on October 12th.
The new film is called How to Be: Mark Ronson and was directed by Carl Hindmarch. The trailer is now live on YouTube and it’s clear we’ll get some “Uptown Funk” and some Amy Winehouse history, not to mention some insights from other legendary artists…
Helping to tell his story will be archival footage and interviews with many of the famous artists he’s worked with over the years, including Boy George, Bradley Cooper, Charlotte Ronson, Joshua Homme, King Princess, Lady Gaga, Lykke Li, Mick Jones, Miley Cyrus, Nikka Costa, Q-Tip, Rashida Jones, Sean Lennon and Simon Le Bon. Also on the credits are Livewire Pictures and Eagle Rock Films as production in association with BBC Music and Eagle Rock Entertainment.
What’s unique about this will be that it’s free for everyone to watch with ads, because their Originals were previously only available to YouTube Premium subscribers. Good idea to have some stuff periodically unlocked to draw in more users. Plus in a long form doc, no one really wants to see commercials if they can avoid it.
