Wilco just began the shows on their fall 2019 tour supporting their latest LP release, Ode to Joy, and at Sunday night’s sold-out Brooklyn Steel show in New York City, the band webcast the show for free for the national audience and got fans stoked for the new songs live. Smart move.
Our friend Cory Schwartz got approved to shoot the band with us but had a bit of limited visibility due to the camera crews in the room. Still we got a good look at the vibes and thankfully the show was recorded for all to watch (or listen to)…
The Wilco we saw on Sunday night, and by all accounts on every night of this tour, is a relaxed and confident band comfortable with themselves and each other. The result is that these shows have been not only celebrations of the return of the band to touring, but also kinetic performances of the new material mixed in with virtuoso versions of the classics.
