Leave it to Daft Punk to steal day one headlines at Coachella without setting foot on stage. On Friday, festival-goers watching the big screens saw the duo premiere a two-minute trailer of themselves (in new sequined suits and their iconic helmets) performing “Get Lucky” off the new Random Access Memories album with Pharrell Williams, and Nile Rodgers. (*Update: Rolling Stone reports the french-duo Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo were watching from Coachella’s VIP area.) At the end of the video the full list of collaborators is revealed as Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Todd Edwards, The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, Paul Williams, Chilly Gonzales, and DJ Falcon. Huge news as this confirms the full list of collaborators and also includes footage of the duo performing for the first time in years. Hype is certainly reaching a boiling point. Check out the trailer after the jump.
