We had some before that ended up being about 50% true, and I’m pleased to update those the official Wakarusa Music Festival lineup announced today.

For anyone in in June, I’d hope that you’d take advantage of yet another diverse that no one would ever expect to see coming through …like…ever.

Update (3/17): Sound Tribe Sector Nine (), Moonshine Still, Daniella Cotton, William Elliott Whitmore, Mali, String Band, and Natural Bridge, Chris Berry and , , Will Hoge, Full Throttle, White Shivers, 56 Hope Road, Alfred Howard and the K23 Orchestra, Speakeasy, , Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Four Fried Chickens and a Coke, Samantha Stollenwerck and added to the 2006 line up.

” is a Native American term meaning “ass-deep”. In and around the Lawrence Kansas area, it refers to the River, which is the primary stream that feeds Clinton Lake, the home of the Wakarusa and Camping . Oddly enough, the river’s average water depth is about “ass-deep”.


The general on-sale is currently scheduled for January 21th, 2006.

NOTE: We have extremely limited quantities available at the “Early Bird” level, so make sure you buy early. Pre-Sale : $89

2006 attendance will be capped at 15,000 sold.

4-day passes include access to all shows and next-to-car general camping.

Children under 12 will be admitted free when accompanied by a parent or guardian possessing an event pass or single day ticket. Children 12 and over will be charged regular admission price and will be required to have a valid ticket for entry. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Violators of this policy will be asked to leave the event.

A park and charity fee will be charged to each ticket purchased.

Note: All are final. The 2006 Wakarusa and Camping Festival will take place RAIN OR SHINE.
