Here’s some more info about the festival straight from the source…
The word “Wakarusa” is a Native American term meaning “ass-deep”. In and around the Lawrence Kansas area, it refers to the Wakarusa River, which is the primary stream that feeds Clinton Lake, the home of the Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival. Oddly enough, the river’s average water depth is about “ass-deep”.
The general on-sale is currently scheduled for January 21th, 2006.
NOTE: We have extremely limited quantities available at the “Early Bird” level, so make sure you buy early. Pre-Sale tickets: $89
2006 attendance will be capped at 15,000 tickets sold.
4-day passes include access to all shows and next-to-car general camping.
Children under 12 will be admitted free when accompanied by a parent or guardian possessing an event pass or single day ticket. Children 12 and over will be charged regular admission price and will be required to have a valid ticket for entry. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Violators of this policy will be asked to leave the event.
A park and charity fee will be charged to each ticket purchased.
Update (1/20/06): Wakarusa has added the following artists to the lineup:
