Umphrey’s McGee has been forced to postpone their Rockjavik run in Iceland due to coronavirus concerns. A letter was posted last night on their website which we’ve re-printed in full below. Bummer. 😷
Dear UM Family,
Due to the evolving situation surrounding the coronavirus, and in alignment with the best practices laid out by the CDC and WHO, it is with the utmost regret that we have to reschedule the upcoming Iceland Röckjavik shows. We are currently working on new dates and plan to announce them as soon as possible. The safety of our fans and the larger community we all share must be the priority. The last thing we wanted to do is inconvenience our fans by canceling this event.
All current tickets will be honored for the new dates, and refunds will be available to anyone who cannot attend the rescheduled event. Please be patient; we will share all pertinent info as it solidifies.
We understand that you may have a myriad of questions and that this unwelcome change in plans may create some complications. We are doing our best to work with Icelandic hospitality providers to see what extended credits they can offer our attendees.
On the initial airline front, we were able to work out an arrangement with those of you flying on Icelandair. They have agreed to offer a full travel credit for your flight purchase valid for up to 5 years. Details on how this credit will be processed to come.
As always, we thank you for your support. This is a tough decision but we know it’s the right thing to do. Mad love, hope to see you soon . . . and try not to touch your face.
