Umphrey’s McGee was at The Caverns in Pelham, TN last night for their first show ever at the killer venue. As the band dropped into their patented “Utopian Fir” jam segment where things tend to veer off into their “Jimmy Stewart” type jamming, the band dropped perfectly into the intro drumbeat to Phish’s “Cavern” from A Picture of Nectar which the crowd got right as the guitars kicked in.
Joel takes the first two lines for a spin, then the band drops back into “Utopian Fir” without missing a beat.
