Umphrey’s McGee has announced a special 15th anniversary treat for fans surrounding one of the band’s best releases, Anchor Drops. Get ready for Anchor Drops Redux, an expanded edition of the album and first ever vinyl pressing. The band just announced the release while chatting with Ari Fink from SiriusXM Jam On and it will feature “two distinct versions of the record, a remastered edition of the original mix and a remixed version from the original master tapes.”
Anchor Drops hit me at the perfect time while I was living in Chicago — local band does okay! — and as a drummer I fell in love with how absolutely commanding that Kris Myers was, somehow improving on the legacy that Mike Mirro had laid as a foundation for them.
The anchor officially drops on Friday, May 17th but you can get your pre-orders in now.
