For anyone who has preordered the new Umphrey’s McGee DVD, Wrapped Around Chicago, this email is hugely relevant to you (if you haven’t already gotten it in your inbox).
Thanks to Scotty B. for the submission.
In the interest of providing our fans with the best possible product, we’d like to inform you of an issue that was discovered upon our receipt of the finished DVD product. In the final authoring phases of the project, an error was made that caused the wrong audio mix to be used on the 2.0 stereo option as well as the 5.1 surround option, making the music not sound as the band intended it to sound. We thought it was very important to alert our fans to
what had happened immediately and explain how the problem will be solved. The DVD is now being re-manufactured with the proper 2.0 stereo and 5.1 surround mixes in place on both discs. We are still releasing the DVD on October 18th and will ship out your pre-order as planned. We appreciate all of you who have preordered the DVD. With that in mind, as soon as the new DVDs are received, we will ship you replacement discs with the corrected audio free of charge. We expect this to take place during the 1st week of November.
Whereas both mixes are problematic, the 5.1 surround mix will give you a better sounding experience for the time being, (even if you do not have a surround sound system) as it will default to a stereo mix that will sound much better than the 2.0 mix option. We highly recommend that you choose the 5.1 mix when playing these initial copies.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your support in our dedication to putting out the highest quality product possible.
Thank you.

No Scarlet, thank you. Way to go to UM for doing this right and not pushing back the release. This DVD is TOO good to not see next week.
