Trey Anastasio is the middle of his huge run in New York City at the Beacon Theatre called The Beacon Jams, and last Friday night he started the sixth show with yet another surprise for fans. Each show has had a unique element or two, including the return of the Ghosts of the Forest project on Week #5.
For Week #6, he welcomed back the female backup singers from Week #5 for a special night of Phish and various other Anastasio songs with some new vocal arrangements. And the show opened with the quintessential Phish song, “You Enjoy Myself”, complete with new female-centric lyrics (“Boy, Woman, God, S***”) and the vocalists only revealed as a bit of a stage direction trick.
No surprise that it was the first video we saw come out of the show as a highlight for fans across social media.
