Trey Anastasio has announced his return to The Beacon Theatre this August 19 and 20 for two acoustic shows. The Phish frontman has a strong affinity to the venue now after his incredible Beacon Jams run during the time when live music was mostly shut down nationally, and his free webcasts via Twitch were truly a beacon to the community when we needed it most.
For this next run at the famed venue, fans are going to want to get in early on what will be the debut appearance of what the MSG team is calling Sphere Immersive Sound, the world’s most advanced concert audio system and a preview of what they’ll be unveiling in Las Vegas at their new MSG Sphere.
More about that below:
Sphere Immersive Sound is world’s most advanced concert audio system and was developed for MSG Sphere at The Venetian, which is scheduled to open in Las Vegas in the second half of 2023. It uses 3D audio beamforming technology to deliver targeted, crystal-clear and uniform audio to every seat in the house – setting a new standard for sound quality in performance venues. Traditional speaker technology can deliver an inconsistent and uneven sound experience, but with beamforming technology, sound levels remain consistent from point of origin to destination – ensuring every audience member experiences the optimal sound mix, regardless of where they’re seated.
Sounds incredible, I’m sure (fingers crossed) – and every show at The Beacon Theatre going forward will be utilizing this technology. I’m wondering if they’ll eventually roll this out to Madison Square Garden, too.
Tickets will be available through a real-time presale beginning Wednesday, July 27 at 12PM ET. Tickets go on sale Thursday, July 28 at 12pm ET at trey.com.
