The latest indie-rock vixen worthy of Hipster Runoff’s sting and Pitchfork’s introspection seems to be Lana Del Rey; apparently the internet is up in arms over whether or not she’s the next big thing or the next big hype. I’ll have to dig in a bit further on the catalog to give any meaningful opinion past what I first exposed myself to, namely, the video for “Video Games” which is featured prominently on her website and already at 1.5 million views or so on YouTube as well as the Hipster Runoff article I linked to above.
Personally, I liked the video and I LOL’d when I read the article, so not sure what that’s saying besides the fact that I can appreciate a good song and a good laugh on as many levels as the next person.
