Tedeschi Trucks Band was back for night two at their annual Beacon Theatre run in New York City last night, a big two sets of music and a throwback moment to start set two as they paid tribute to the recent passing of Derek Trucks Band drummer, Yonrico Scott.
An acoustic mini-set to start features a beautiful duet on “Back Where I Started” dedicated to the memory of our dear brother Yonrico Vondez Scott. We love you Rico! pic.twitter.com/MawTkR1So7

The band fit in a Willie Nelson cover, “Somebody Pick Up My Pieces,” as well as a Spooner Oldham classic “Sweet Inspiration,” both in the first set.
“Sweet Inspiration” finishes up a slamming set one on night two at the Beacon. Something special coming up here in set two… stay tuned @BeaconTheatre pic.twitter.com/E8nhBLqncN

To start the second set, the band came out and donned an acoustic set of instruments to play a few songs for their old buddy, including “Back Where I Started” from Derek Trucks Band‘s catalog, “I Am Yours” from Derek and the Dominos, “Meet Me At The Bottom” and “When Will I Begin” before coming back on strong with “Let Me Get By.” Blues ripper Junior Mack then came out for “Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?” before the band moved onto the Allen Toussaint classic, “Get Out Of My Life, Woman.”
The action did not stop until the final note, as the second set still featured the gorgeous cover they do of “Angel From Montgomery” by John Prine, then they covered the Grateful Dead classic, “Sugaree,” and closed the set with “Whipping Post” by the Allman Brothers Band.
Looks like a scorcher. 🔥🔥🔥 Scroll down to see the setlist and some videos from the show. There are still some tickets available for the Beacon shows (scroll down to see their dates), and they’ll be webcasting the final two shows of the run via nugs.tv.
