We’ve been admirers of the team over at Jam in the Van for quite some time now and we’ve often just missed opportunities to re-post their awesome content on our site simply because we get a little too busy around here and something else comes up. Finally I’m making some time for it after the last note from their team with a bit of bad news…. the van is no more! It sputtered out after their SXSW visit, where this Tea Leaf Green session was recorded, and now they’re raising money to get another van. Here’s part of their background via Indiegogo:
Jam Van 1.0 made it as far as she needed to get. SXSW is going to be a game changer, the content is going to be spectacular. While we roll out those videos and audio recordings, we’re going to be working hard on our end to build a Jam Van 2.0, so that we can get further than Texas, so that we can traverse this whole continent in search of music. This summer we want to be in your towns, at your venues, at your festivals, recording your favorite artists and sharing that music with the world.

Jam in the Van: SAVE THE VAN CAMPAIGN
What We Do:
First off, thanks for checking out our page. We’ve been recording Jam Van Sessions for a year now, and the feeling that we get when we make something that people dig and want to watch is just as amazing as ever. So we want to keep doing that. We want to keep searching out music and recording our unique live HD sessions from the confines of our Jam Van, so that we can keep passing the videos and audio recordings along to you. So that you can enjoy them and discover great music with us.
In short, Jam in the Van was created by a group of friends, each from a different walk of life and background, each with one common bond, the love of music. We built a Jam Van by turning an old Winnebago into a professional sound studio. We invite musicians inside of the van to record intimate HD sessions to showcase the artists’ live performances.
If you haven’t seen our sessions yet, check out our website: www.jaminthevan.com,
Facebook: www.facebook.com/jaminthevan
Twitter: www.twitter.com/jaminthevan.
YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/user/JamintheVanThere you will find live music showcases for an ever growing number of emerging and established artists. All of the content is offered to you for free. Our goal is to provide a benefit to everyone who loves music. The musicians, the fans, and those like us, a bunch of dudes from Venice who love having a good time, and want to spread those vibes to the world.
Our Dilemma:
Our dilemma right now is simple, at the moment, we don’t have a Jam Van. We took our last beast to Texas for SXSW. She was an old and rickety giant whose belly was worn and a bit stinky, but somehow perfect for making great sounds. Yet she housed her last music in Austin, a faulty oil line and a seized up engine were the death of her, somewhere just East of Ft. Stockton, TX, alongside a tattered windmill and an abandoned goat farm, she sputtered her last bit of exhaust.
How You Can Help:
Jam Van 1.0 made it as far as she needed to get. SXSW is going to be a game changer, the content is going to be spectacular. While we roll out those videos and audio recordings, we’re going to be working hard on our end to build a Jam Van 2.0, so that we can get further than Texas, so that we can traverse this whole continent in search of music. This summer we want to be in your towns, at your venues, at your festivals, recording your favorite artists and sharing that music with the world.
If you can spare it, please help us achieve this goal. All of the proceeds will go directly into a new van, which will become a mobile recording studio. We need about $8,000.00 to do this. So even if you can’t donate, help us out by making some noise on our behalf. Spread the word, use the Indie Go-Go share tools, share this page on your social media, click “like,” spread our videos, check-out our social media and our site.
Every little bit helps, and in return we want to throw you some great thank-you perks. So check out the different levels of support, we got pretty creative with the higher levels of donation, and we think those rewards are pretty fun, but there’s stuff for every level of assistance, because every little bit will go a long way to helping us build Jam Van 2.0, bigger and headier than ever.
Thanks,
The Jam Van Team
