The touring just never stops for STS9, and yet regardless of how many times I’ve seen this band I get really excited whenever they announce new dates.
STS9 seems to be taking the road most traveled and is really reaping the rewards of touring to develop a larger and larger fan base. The band has seen ever increasing numbers since its inception in the late 90’s and I think is poised to become a toptier force in the live music scene.
The most recent album, Peaceblaster, hit #10 on the Billboard electronic charts and #2 on the iTunes electronic charts, which shows success on multiple levels. The album is definitely their most accessible but without sacrificing anything when it comes to the live show. I was able to catch the band back in July and the new songs adapt to the stage remarkably. The fall tour starts in late October from their home base, Santa Cruz, and finishes up in Minneapolis a little more than a month later. Follow the jump to the dates.
The tour is interesting because STS9 is deliberately hitting the cities that missed out on this summer’s tour. That consideration shows the bands commitment to its fans. Some notable dates are the Austin date on Halloween and the two night run at my favorite venue of all time, the 9:30 Club. If you’ve never taken in a show in this historic DC venue, do yourself a favor and take the trip. Enjoy the tour and I’ll see you in Milwaukee!
