String Cheese Incident was the headliner at last night’s Friday Grandstand at the 12th annual DelFest 2019 being held in Cumberland, Maryland.
The band welcomed Joe Craven on talking drum early in the first set on “Manga,” and the band brought out some extra bluegrass flavor on “Colorado Bluebird Sky,” the band’s first time playing Hank Williams‘ “Lonesome Blues,” and a few other tracks on the first set, with Ronnie McCoury joining on mandolin, Robbie McCoury on banjo, and Jason Carter on fiddle.
The set also featured a cover of “Take the Money and Run” and papa Del McCoury came out for the final two songs of the first set, Leon Jackson’s “Love Please Come Home” and Hank Williams’ “I Saw The Light.”
For the second set the band got looser and jammier and welcomed Billy Strings for a “Black Clouds” in between some big jam segments.
