Mark Ronson is an artist and producer that I feel truly late to the party about, but the more I learn and hear from this guy the more I really dig the vibes.
What’s his story?
He’s worked with like, everyone.
And I was definitely sold after I came across his TED Talk about sampling, but when I saw him pop up earlier this week on Stereogum with the headline that he had just released a new track with Bruno Mars, I didn’t immediately jump at the chance to listen to it. I mean, sure, Bruno Mars is great and all, but it just doesn’t get my attention almost ever.
Then he popped up again after another new track surfaced the same day, his spacey funk jam called “Daffodils” with Kevin Parker from Tame Impala which he debuted on BBC Radio.
.@zanelowe is about to world premiere "Daffodils" feat Kevin Parker from my new album.

Okay now we’re talking.
You NEED to hear this jam. It’s already on repeat status for me, likely going to daily after I get it out of my system and repeat it about 10 times.
Great, great track.

And for reals, this Bruno Mars track is pretty funky, too.

His new album Uptown Special is due out January 27th on RCA. After these two tracks hooked me I’ll definitely be diving into this album wholeheartedly when it gets released.
