On May 19th for the two-part season finale, The Simpsons family are returning to Iceland and the welcome mat to the country will be rolled out by none other than Sigur Rós, who will also contribute new music to the episode! According to the Icelandic site MBL (you will want to translate the page to English…unless you know Icelandic), the episode will be called “The Saga of Carl Carlson” and feature Carl (ya know, Lenny’s BFF) on a trip to his native Iceland.
It’s no secret that the creators of The Simpsons are big music fans. Since the early-goings of the show, episodes (and a film) way back when have featured such artists as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish (“Weekend at Burnsies“), Green Day, U2, Smashing Pumpkins (“Homerpalooza“), Peter Frampton (“Homerpalooza”) and Aerosmith (“Flaming Moe’s”) to name a few. More recently, such artists as Tom Waits, Colin Meloy, Lady Gaga and David Byrne have made appearances. DVR will be set for this one.
