Last night Wilco headlined the first night of their music & arts festival, SOLID SOUND in North Adams, MA with a unique and interesting spin on their live show, a set of all-request tunes that were voted on by fans months prior. A quick look at the setlist shows the band took huge risks with a batch of classics you don’t see many bands attempt. The list ranges from “Cut Your Hair” by Pavement, “Simple Twist of Fate” by Bob Dylan, “Marquee Moon” by Television, “Who Loves the Sun” by the Velvet Underground, “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk (Nels channeling Nile!) and the Massachusetts-friendly song “Roadrunner” by the Modern Lovers. Wilco even welcomed Yo La Tengo’s Ira Kaplan to join on his own “Tom Courtenay” halfway through the show.
It’s already going down as one of the more important gigs in Wilco’s long career. Thankfully fan-shot videos have already surfaced. Check them out after the jump.
