Phish just kicked off their 30th Anniversary Summer in Bangor, ME with “Possum”, having also played a soundcheck earlier in the day sending dance grooves into the New England crowd gathered outside Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion. The soundcheck included a few Trey Anastasio originals,”Corona” and “Frost”, another tune with Mike Gordon on lead vocals, a cover of “My Soul” and closed with a lengthy jam those in attendance were already calling an unofficial highlight. Photos coming in from the Pavilion show a new Chris Kuroda light configuration and of course the new stage setup reported on by Rolling Stone. It’s similar to the one they used in 2003 and 2004. We’ll have the setlist, tweets and links to an audio stream after the jump. Let’s get this show on the road!

@CoventryMusic I think you forgot to add "Said no one ever" at the end. Maybe you just ran out of characters.

Rock and Roll jam into 2001 was absolutely quintessential #Phish for me. Pristine.
