Phish closed out their three-night run in Saratoga Springs, NY last night with another solid affair mixing in Junta classics, new songs off Fuego and interestingly enough three from their 2004 album, Undermind. Although a little spotty on some of the composed songs like “My Friend, My Friend” and “Divided Sky”, the band delivered an impressive sequence in the second set in “Carini”, “Waves”, “Wingsuit” and “Piper.” “Waves” and the dream-like quality of “Wingsuit” pair particularly well and if you’re looking for improv jump straight to the “Piper.” The set closing “You Enjoy Myself” which has remained fairly tame in 3.0 offered a glimpse of what the song is capable of as a Trey/Mike ‘jam-off’ was one of the highlights of the evening. Check out the complete setlist (still no covers in Summer ’14) from day three at SPAC:

Phish just released the video from their masterful 20-minute performance of “FUEGO” from the other night as well. The band will take two days off and then travel to The Mann Center in Philly before their ‘unofficial’ festival of sorts on Randall’s Island in NY, NY. Anyone want to pick me up a Picture of Nectar vinyl at The Freezer? Phish has still yet to perform a proper cover this summer. In this bloggers opinion, “I Didn’t Know” does not count as it was written by band friend Richard “Nancy” Wright and basically given to them as their own along with “Halley’s Comet” in 1987.
