According to a report from Revolt.TV (a Sean “Diddy” Combs production) citing sources close to the band, music from the highly anticipated follow up to Arcade Fire’s GRAMMY-winning album The Suburbs will be released on September 9th. We’re uncertain as of yet if this means the full album will be released on 9/9 or just a debut single from LP4. Check out the scoop below.

Sources close to beloved Canadian indie rock gods Arcade Fire have told REVOLT TV that music from the follow up of the band’s Grammy Award–winning 2010 album, The Suburbs, will arrive on September 9.
This new release info certainly fits into the timetable established last fall when drummer Jeremy Gara told Canadian radio station CKCU that the band had been eyeing a late 2013 release date for the album.
The source also revealed that the album was recorded in multiple locations over the course of the last year. “This includes the band’s widely reported stint this past March in New York at the DFA Records studio with LCD Soundsystem Frontman James Murphy.
Murphy was quick to downplay rumors that he was producing tracks for the upcoming album—acting as more of a creative consultant.
“There’s a lot of them, and they’re mostly self-produced—like, they don’t need a producer in a certain way,” he told Rolling Stone.
“I think it’s going to be a really great record, actually,” he added. “I’m eager to see it come out.”
Longtime friend and collaborator Markus Dravs has also been involved in the recording process.
We also know that the album was NOT made in the famed Quebec church that the band used to record both 2005’s Neon Bible and 2010’s The Suburbs. After structural problems, which included a collapsing roof, the band decided to sell the space in January.
We’ll have the official album name, track list and upcoming tour details in the near future. Until then, it’s just nice to know we definitely have new music from Arcade Fire to look forward to sooner rather than later.
