Rush has pretty much sealed the deal on us fans ever seeing a reunion tour, but we’ll definitely still be excited whenever we see the band working together on new stuff for the fans. The band recently announced that they will host a one-night only worldwide movie theatrical experience they’re calling “Cinema Strangiato” coming up this August 21st, and today they’ve shared an official trailer.
The film they’ll be screening will take a look at the the final Rush tour, R40 Live, something I was fortunately able to catch when they rolled through San Jose. We’ll get to see backstage footy, guest drop-bys, etc. An obvious must-see for any self-respecting Rush fan. In the trailer we see shots of Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine and Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins both giving the camera some chew time.
Here’s the official announcement as it dropped on the socials…
Attention RUSH fans: On August 21, Anthem/Trafalgar will bring the first annual “Cinema Strangiato” to the big screen in movie theaters worldwide for one night only. This theatrical film experience will bring Rush fans together for a special look into R40 Live, see new backstage footage, special guests, and performances that you won’t want to miss.
