As we reported on last week, Madison Square Garden will host an event for the victims of Hurricane Sandy simply titled “12-12-12.” The first round of artists were just announced and it’s a pretty impressive list — Roger Waters, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Paul McCartney, Kanye West, The Who, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel and Alicia Keys. In a statement from the organizers, “We expect to announce additional legendary performers in the near future and we are confident that the event will ensure those in need will not be forgotten, and vital aid will be directed to rebuilding our communities along the East Coast.”

The concert will be telecast live from New York with details on that and ticket sales coming soon. All proceeds from the event will go to the Robin Hood Relief Fund. Spread the word #121212concert. An official site has also been set up at www.121212concert.org.
