Ric Ocasek, lead singer for The Cars and inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, has passed away at age 75.
The incredible thing about the Cars is that they used the same tools as everyone else and sounded absolutely nothing like anybody else.

As first reported by NBC in New York, the story goes that police received a call today around 4pm for an “unconscious male at a townhouse on East 19th Street.” It was then reported that he had been pronounced at the scene and law enforcement sources already confirmed the deceased was Ocasek according to NBC New York.
The family shared a statement the following day stating that Ocasek had been recuperating after a surgery and was being well taken-care-of at home with his wife and two tons. Sad news.

R.I.P. RIC OCASEK: Greatly saddened to hear that Ric Ocasek of The Cars has passed away. I'll always remember as a kid that EVERYONE loved the band. The Rockers, the Punks, the New Wavers, and the Pop fans all dug 'em. They were the one band we could all agree on. #RicOsasek
