The Hollywood Bowl’s Summer Concert Series has a rare treat for Los Angeles concert goers this Wednesday night. I’m really excited to see what magic unfolds under the shell from some of the premiere musicians in the world. It’s not often Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller, Wayne Shorter, Carlos and Cindy Blackman Santana, Dave Holland, and Zakir Hussain are all scheduled on the same stage. This special night of jazz is being put on by The Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Creative Chair. Read on for event info and a 10-minute video from Hancock, Miller & Shorter that will get you (pun-intended) jazzed up for the event.

The great thing about the Hollywood Bowl’s Summer Series besides the eclectic lineups are the extremely affordable pricing options. Two tickets can cost less than ten dollars (with some tickets priced at a dollar). That and the ability to bring your own wine and a picnic basket equals out to one of the best bargains in “tinseltown.” It’s simple really. Sip some wine and let jazz fill your ears for two hours. If you can’t make it out to see this event, check out the Bowl’s upcoming show calendar. On September 5th it’s a night of Blues music with B.B. King and the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Another show I hope to make.
