This makes me wish I was heading down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year.
On Tuesday, February 6th, 2018, raise your spirit and cup high…celebrate with us at the inaugural Krewe Du Kanaval. Kanaval is an all-day celebration starting with an inclusive street parade through the French Quarter and Treme, a free afternoon festival in Congo Square followed by a ticketed “Rhum and Drum” Ball at One Eyed Jacks.
Pretty much a normal Tuesday in New Orleans plus some parades, but this one will be a new thing put on by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band family and none other than Win and Regine from Arcade Fire.
A joint effort between Ben and Jeanette Jaffe and the Preservation Hall team, and Win Butler and Regine Chassagne, Krewe du Kanaval is the first new Krewe to join the New Orleans Mardi Gras in 5 years.
