~ SPAC NIGHT TWO SETLIST/STREAM ~
Phish started their two-night run at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, New York last night and we were playing along with the show from the streams on the couch.
Nobody at all seemed to know the opener as it debuted, and to the fans’ defense, not that many of us were listening to the Everly Brothers in the 60’s. “Cathy’s Clown” was sung by Mike and it won’t be anything to fully write home about, but the “Tweezer Reprise > Carini” that followed is one hell of a way to jump start a show and finish off what was leftover from the Camden run.
Highlights in the first set slowed a bit and the band just played themselves out on a good song selection and the rare “Meat” grilling that we got to see. For set two, the band played into a standard Kasvot Växt kickoff of “Cool Amber and Mercury” before the real meat of the set showed up with “Down with Disease > Scents and Subtle Sounds > Twist” which was really the jam segment of the show. Great playing, very creative and clean transitions, and a lot of fun overall.
“Fee” appeared in the #1 slot of the encore with megaphone and all, before the band played the Ghosts of the Forest song “A Life Beyond the Dream” before sending people off into the evening with an epic “First Tube” that even featured a w00k crashing the stage.
