Phish played Deer Creek last night amidst some serious thunderstorms, a familiar and fond memory I have of the weather we had while seeing Dave Matthews Band there in 2000 and Tom Petty in 2001, and it caused the band to postpone the second set for a good hour or so forcing fans on the lawn back to their cars or elsewhere to seek refuge. I can’t imagine what it was like there but the boys at Coventry had a ton of live updates from the show as well as the YEMblog. This status update was crazy for me to read:
Set held till 11 for weather. Epic. No music on pa. Eerie
Man I can’t imagine what that was like. Here was how the setlist came out:
06/19/09 Verizon Wireless Music Center (formerly Deer Creek Amph.),
Noblesville, IN1: Backwards Down the Number Line, AC/DC Bag, Limb By Limb, The Moma Dance, Water In The Sky, Split Open and Melt, Lawn Boy, The Wedge, Stealing Time From The Faulty Plan, The Connection, Ocelot, Fluffhead
2: A Song I Heard The Ocean Sing > Drowned > Twist, Let Me Lie, Tweezer > 2001 > Suzy Greenberg > Possum
E: Sleeping Monkey > Tweezer Reprise
Check out the JamBase photos from the show here.
The band moves onto my other favorite venues from the Midwest, Alpine Valley up in Wisconsin, with shows tonight and tomorrow to close out their first leg of the tour. So far so good, if you ask me. I can’t wait for Red Rocks.
