A New Year’s Celebration with PhilRAD featuring Phil Lesh & Joe Russo’s Almost Dead on December 30 and December 31
We’re bidding goodnight to 2014 with two nights of Phil Lesh and JRAD at The Capitol Theatre! Founding Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh will join Joe Russo’s Almost Dead to become a new incarnation, known for the first time as PhilRAD. This momentous occasion will celebrate Phil Lesh’s first time performing New Year’s Eve on the East Coast since Grateful Dead’s Boston Tea Party show in 1969.
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead can only be described as an energy-driven and intense band thriving on unique and organic interaction between band members. Learning from the source itself, Joe Russo, who has performed numerous times with Futhur and Phil Lesh & Friends has discovered and captured the essence of Grateful Dead’s music and spirit. Joined by guitarists Scott Metzger and Tommy Hamilton, and Marco Benevento on keys, JRAD has been impressing live audiences around the country by pouring their hearts out while performing from the Grateful Dead songbook.
Join us for two magical evenings of live music and toast to new beginnings at The Cap. We can’t think of a better way to ring in 2015!
