UPDATE: A TWO-NIGHT RUN IN COLORADO WAS JUST ANNOUNCED!!! Tickets here!
Tonight a brand new Instagram account appeared to spring up out of nowhere tied to the Oysterhead project, the power trio of Trey Anastasio, Les Claypool and Stewart Copeland. Normally we wouldn’t think an unverified account could have any real smoke behind it, this one just so happens to already be followed by Trey Anastasio’s official account and Les Claypool’s official Primus account…so this could be real, baby!
It’s been almost 20 years since these guys got together and made new songs, so fingers crossed that what we’ll be seeing soon. And based on the rumor you’ll see below, people are tossing out Denver as a potential run already close to being announced.
As you can see in the first and only post on the account, the beginning mantra of the project and namesake song “Mr. Oysterhead” gets referenced with the lyrics “when all else has been done and said” and many of us remember the next line vividly: “Along comes Mr. Oysterhead!”
This could mean the reunion I’ve been hearing that could happen during 2020 may, indeed, be happening. 🤯
