Listen to a selection from “Scabbard” from Amazon.com. I was actually quite surprised on the first listen. It’s an all instrumental sample that sounds more reminiscent of composed Phish (“Divided Sky”) than recent TAB efforts.
The artwork above on the single is from Micah Lidberg.
You’ve got to think the new album in which “Scabbard” is presumably a part is also the project Trey was working on with Producer Peter Katis and members of The National and Mates of State earlier in the year. Odds are, after Phish wraps up their Summer tour, plans of a ‘Big Red’ solo tour in October/November should be bubbling to the surface. Fingers crossed for an outdoor Los Angeles venue this time.
