Colorado local boy, Alex B. AKA Paper Diamond, makes good. Well that’s kind of an old story. If you haven’t been keeping up with this self-made success story, you’ve been sleeping. After enjoying a few years of underground success with a more indie electronic sound and releases on some of the game’s biggest labels like Pretty Lights Music and Mad Decent, the Boulder-based artist has started to hit it big and his sound may be following his success.
He made some serious waves in the EDM scene in 2013 after hooking up with HARD productions and throwing down huge sets at HARD Day of the Dead, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Electric Zoo and becoming the official featured artist for HARD summer. All this while he released a full length album Paragon, a high profile remix of the title track on Diplo’s new Revolution EP, a Diplo and friends mix on BBC radio 1, and lets not forget touring constantly. This guy is a machine.
His most recent endeavor is a collab with trap heavyweight and Cold Crush tour-mate LOUDPVCK on the track “Wylin.” This one is a massive track showing a little bit of LOUPVCK’s affinity for huge trap bangers and Paper D’s extremely versatile production style. This track definitely sees a bigger sound out of Paper Diamond then we’ve seen in the past, but still finds a very happy medium with his special sauce of weird.
