Mount Kimbie is a project I’ve been digging for a long time now, and I’m stoked that they’re pushing forward with some of the sickest new stuff I’ve heard from anyone in a while.
First up, don’t miss their 2017 release Love What Survives. Really solid. And while I haven’t seen them live yet, their live act has now extended to a four piece and they’re bringing the show to the US for a recently announced set of tour dates.
They also just released “Turtle Neck Man”, taken from the same sessions as Love What Survives. It’s very similar to the track they do together on the latest LP, but this one also wins huge bonus points for being 1:22 short, basically demanding that you just put it on repeat for a few listens. It seems to take a larger place when you consume it like that.
