2:00 p.m. – Yet Another (Comedy Tent): Charlie Murphy from Chappelle’s Show
This should be the first place festival-goers hit. The Friday night shows are going to require a chilled out afternoon, and how better to spend your afternoon than in the comedy tent with Charlie Murphy? This cat is hilarious…
4:00 p.m. – This Tent: John Prine
I would have to see this. When I was growing up, my mom used to play John Prine all the time. She’s a huge folk music fan (which I think John Prine is mostly folksy, but I’m sure someone could correct my lack of research on the subject). She was so impressed by the way John Prine strung words together. For that, and that alone, this is where I would be.
5:30 p.m. – What Stage: Allman Brothers Band
I’m psyched that I’m going to see them at the Rosemont Theatre, one very cool Chicago venue. I saw the Rockettes there when I was in high school, and yes, it was because I was courting a girl on the dance team. Yes, it turned out to be a big mistake.
6:15 p.m. – Which Stage: Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters 2005
Is Trey going to make an appearance during this set? Didn’t he guest play on Herbie’s last album?
Disclaimer: These last two mentions are on the larger Bonnaroo stages. Come early to these if you want to find any sort of decent spot.
7:00 p.m. – That Tent: Benevento/Russo Duo featuring Mike Gordon
I’ve really heard nothing but amazing things about what happens when The Duo becomes the Trio. Definitely check this s*** out…
From here, I would definitely skip Dave Matthews Band. Go back to your tent and sleep. You still have a long night ahead of you…

1:00 a.m. – That Tent: The Mars Volta
I really have to wonder what their live shows are like. Is it really nasty sounding? Faster than the albums? Meaner? Jammier? Anyone know? I love Frances the Mute a lot.
1:30 a.m. – The Other Tent: STS9
Last time STS9 took the stage at Bonnaroo, Mike Gordon helped them finish their encore. This is a no-brainer. You need to see them if you haven’t already.
Now, sleep as long as you can. In 2004, the latest I could sleep was 7:00 a.m. Once the sun started to hit the tent, it was absolutely impossible to stay asleep, let alone be comfortable.
3:00 p.m. – What Stage: Gov’t Mule
OR
3:00 p.m. – This Tent: Mouse on Mars
This would be a hard decision. I think I’d run back and forth between the songs while the improvising was occurring. Whenever Warren Haynes starts a guitar solo, I’ll run back from Mouse on Mars to catch it. Once he stops, I’ll run back. It’s only about a half mile between the stages. It’s totally reasonable to do that.
3:45 p.m. – Yet Another (Comedy) Tent: Jim Breuer
The original stoner comedian. I’m sorry, he ruined Half Baked.
4:00 p.m. – Which Stage: Yonder Mountain String Band
OR
4:00 p.m. – The Other Tent: Xavier Rudd
Another toss-up here. I’ve read about Xavier and heard various live tracks from Yonder Mountain from Sirius radio. Xavier is supposedly the Austrailian Keller Williams. I’m picturing Crocodile Dundee on mouth flugle?
Man, the next two or three hours would be quite hell from a decision standpoint. That’s the problem inherent to Bonnaroo. Maybe I’m a glass half empty sort of guy, but I hate the idea that I’m missing things that I would always otherwise see if given the chance.
5:00 p.m. – This Tent: Particle
I’d check about thirty minutes of them and then run over to…
5:30 p.m. – What Stage: The Black Crowes
You know, I’ve never been a humongous fan, but I’m excited to see what they do with this reuinion. I want to see them do it right…
7:30 p.m. – This Tent: Keller Williams
No brainer here, either. I would easily not miss this for the world. That sucked that I had to miss more than half the first set the last time I saw him. I’m hoping to get some hot Keller action at Summercamp.
8:30 p.m. – What Stage: Widespread Panic
Duh. Of course.

12:30 p.m. – Which Stage: Trey Anastasio
Is this horn-y Trey or 70V-y Trey?
Go back to the tent to sleep. Now! Walk by De La Soul at That Tent.
2:00 p.m. – Which Stage: Umphrey’s McGee
The no-brainer no-brainer. Seriously.
3:00 p.m. – What Stage: Bob Weir and Ratdog
Only after Umphrey’s has walked off stage. But, this is cool. I always liked how crispy some of the Ratdog stuff sounds when put up next to the Dead.
4:00 p.m. – Which Stage: My Morning Jacket
I need to at least see these guys once. I missed them at Bonnaroo 2004.
At this point, I’d probably go back and relax and get ready for…
8:30 p.m. – What Stage: Widespread Panic
Expect fireworks when they finish the festival.
Wow, I get tired and dirty just thinking about doing this. Especially if I actually did this two weeks after attending Summercamp.
Anyone that does go, please follow the Live Music Blog Bonnaroo Schedule accordingly. If you do not follow my instructions, you might end up seeing something that you should not have seen. This would be start to diminish your Bonnaroo experience. Don’t let that happen to you.
