I have loved Little Richard since I was a child, when I knew him as “Pee-Wee’s friend who goes ice skating” pic.twitter.com/Yr8QNoRcaT

The Beatles covered his songs. Bob Dylan’s teenaged dream was to join his band. Hendrix actually played in his band. Prince copped his look. Like he says in this interview, “It all came from me.” RIP Little Richard. https://t.co/36rSZknrjY

In 2004 Little Richard wrote a profile of himself for our Immortals issue. He explained why he was so dangerous at the time — because was the first black artist whose records the white kids were starting to buy https://t.co/cX2qTkecyH pic.twitter.com/k8wG3I82rl
