Kesha dropped a new single today called “Resentment” featuring futuristic country rocker Sturgill Simpson and Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson (along with one of the songwriters, Wrabel). Woah.
Pretty impressive to see such major talent all come through on one track, but this follows up her “Raising Hell” single featuring Big Freedia and this is going to be a reflection of the type of variation we’ll see from Kesha on the new album, High Road, due out January 31 via Kemosabe/RCA Records.
News of a nationwide headlining US tour as well as appearing as both a performer and chat guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will be coming soon.
Kesha says “resentment is such a powerful and destructive emotion and in my experience is more complex than hate or anger.” And along with the new single, a video for the track was released and is “unlike anything Kesha’s released before, an intimate self-shot video recorded on her iPhone 11 Pro that compliments the raw emotion of the song.”
