Anyone have a few hundred thousand dollars lying around? You could have been the proud owner of a pair of sunglasses once owned by John Lennon, sold recently at a Sotheby’s London auction for nearly $200,000.
The specs were owned by Lennon’s former chauffeur Alan Herring and “were likely made by Oliver Goldsmith and they were given to Lennon in 1966 so he could prepare for his turn in Richard Lester’s film, How I Won the War.” [via Rolling Stone]

The glasses were supposedly left in the back of Ringo Starr’s limo.
