It’s a great day when we see the mainstream honoring one of our greatest musical heroes, Jimi Hendrix. He’ll be getting a special honor with the announcement that a bill just passed in Washington state that will rename the Renton post office to feature his namesake.
Last week a bill was signed into law re-christening the Renton Highlands Post Office the James Marshall “Jimi” Hendrix Post Office in the legendary guitarist’s honor. The bill, which passed unanimously, was sponsored by Rep. Adam Smith, D-Bellevue, and supported by both of Washington’s U.S. senators, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell. [The Seattle Times]
Hendrix grew up in the Seattle area and this post office is right near Hendrix was buried to rest.
