UPDATE: the band has confirmed a four-night run at MGM Grand Garden Arena!
Back in October of 2015, this little nugget of info dropped below:
Some reliable yet unconfirmed word around the scene is that Phish has been in talks to appear at a festival in Las Vegas in 2016. This would be an outdoor festival, and know that Rock in Rio is not performing on the Strip in 2016. So start working that one out …
At the time, we felt it was totally plausible considering Phish brought a sell-out circus to MGM Grand Arena for Halloween weekend in 2014. Why wouldn’t MGM Properties want another event with the phans, and why wouldn’t they book where Rock in Rio was held, especially if those organizers are taking 2016 off as stated by the Las Vegas Sun. Maybe this “festival” would be the West Coast equivalent to the three-day runs Phish has produced at Bader Field (Atlantic City) and Randall’s Island. The MGM Resorts Village is located directly on The Strip which equals easy lodging and late-night opportunities for Phish fans. Seems like the perfect scenario for everyone involved.
So @phish is looking at a festival gig in #Vegas in '16.

Now (March 2016), we have it on good authority that this wouldn’t be the Memorial Day weekend that some people suspected — the band is looking at returning for Halloween 2016. For a FOUR night festival. With the Halloween show falling on the Monday night as the final show of the run. Uhm…#VegasBall?
Trey returned to Vegas for his Halloween 2015 run at the Brooklyn Bowl, so maybe the band is just really loving those Halloween Vegas vibes. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
