Recently it was reported that a new movie called Motherless Brooklyn featuring Edward Norton would be featuring some soundtrack accompaniments from none other than Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke.
Today we have a stream of that track which features Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers and of course Yorke’s other side project Atoms for Peace, which Flea is a member of.
Check it out below.
“Daily Battles” features in a somber sequence where Norton’s Lionel, a Tourette’s-suffering detective investigating the death of his mentor in 1950s New York, returns home to his apartment. The character’s frayed emotions, everyday struggles and isolation are captured in the front half of Yorke’s ballad; the second half of the song, featuring Flea’s tinkered-with trumpet melodies, unfurls after Lionel attempts to unmoor from his reality.
Along with that track, the soundtrack team also released a jazzy rendition of this song done by Wynton Marsalis. Check that out below.
