Late last week, Dell and YouTube sent out a press release announcing that they’re partnering up to offer free, live webcasts from Jazz Fest, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits (ACL). #score
South by Southwest finished up this past weekend down in Austin, TX and we’re sifting through the noise to see what sort of highlights came out of the whole thing. I saw a lot of people talking about Alabama Shakes and a lot of people bitching about that ridiculously large Doritos Stage that Snoop Dogg played at. Other than that, it seemed like business as usual down there. And just like last year, I’ll probably use NPR as my choice for the gluttonous over-consumption of media that comes out of the conference and festival every year.
Hidden Track is all over the Paul Simon Graceland tour info; the first show has been announced for the Hard Rock Calling festival in London’s Hyde Park on July 15th. Can’t wait to see what other dates get announced soon. Also, the documentary about his return to South Africa to celebrate the recording’s anniversary won an Audience Award at the Film portion of SXSW….
The Umphrey’s McGee St. Patty’s Day show this past weekend at the Fox Theatre was a rager based on what I’ve heard, but my friends came home most excited about the poster for the night. It was done by Jim Pollock, that uber fashion Phish poster designer. Looks pretty sweet, too…
